ABOUT THE ARTIST
My name is Barak Breden and I’m a metal artist, cowboy & composer.
Born and raised in the Southwest, I’ve done custom metal work in Wyoming, New Mexico and Colorado. With a background in classical music composition, I was drawn to metal work because it’s similar to composing a symphony — the details make the art. Five years in the pursuit of happiness and mastery of metals eventually led me to start “Cowboy Composer.” The company name came from a conversation over beers with my father and a close family friend. I had just come home to Albuquerque after an adventure in cattle ranching in Wyoming and the influence on my art, music, and work was profound. With more profanity than is probably appropriate, I earned the name of “Cowboy Composer.” During my time in Wyoming, my exposure to welding came from rural necessity; things need to be built to have functional living conditions, in any environment. The beauty in fabrication is in functional art; it is where the soul of the artist and the vision of the patron thrive as one.
